Characters

Character profiles for the cast of Gal the Ghost Princess

Princess Gal

Age: 13
Gal is the second child to Queen Morgan and King Lawrence. Her love for sports, exercise, and games are only part of what make her so hyperactive. You'll rarely find Gal in silence. For better or worse, she remains extremely positive at all times. It takes a lot to knock Gal down, but that is in due part because she actively ignores the harder things in life, much to the dismay of her cousins and mother.

Queen Morgan

Age: 36

Princess January

Age: 4

Takes after her older sister Gal. Not just with her messy curly hair, but also because she loves to have a good time and hates anything she considers boring.

Prince Euphemius

Age: 16

As carefree as his father, but not as loud. Dresses casually for a prince.

Prince Warwick

Age: 8

Gal sees her cousin Prince Warwick as a miniature version of his older brother Prince Owen. He's eight years old but talks like an adult. He constantly berates Gal and her siblings for not focusing on their studies and responsibilities.

King Lawrence

Age: 32

A big-bellied king who encourages the more carefree children in the royal family, such as Gal and January. He has a finely trimmed mustache and well-groomed hair. His voice is boisterous and might sound intimidating if he wasn't so kind a man.

Mahpi

Age: 73

Queen Morgan's mother. Is short and plump. Loves her grandchildren and family very much. Lives alone in the Star Nation, ever since her husband Onwardo passed to the Land of Peace.

Onwardo

Queen Morgan's father, Mahpi's husband. He has since run out of his time in the Star Nation and now resides in the Land of Peace, the final resting place for all spirits.

Locations

The various locations Gal and the others come across on their adventures.

New Machoká

The home of Princess Gal and the royal family, as well as all the citizens they serve and wish to make happy with the Star Ceremony.

The city is on the coast of the continent, in the northernmost part of the country. The lands in this area are known to be very windy and cold. Farmlands with fields exist between the city and the magical forests and mountains further inland.

Talbot Federal Penitentiary

A prison off the coast of New Machoká, holding the city's most dangerous criminals. Including the demonic sorcerers who killed Mahpi, the brothers Garten and Fed.

The Star Nation

Another world where the spirits of the dead reside for many years, before passing into the final resting place, the Land of Peace.

More details coming soon!

The Land of Peace

Not much is known about the Land of Peace. It is the final resting place for all good spirits after their time in the Star Nation. Queen Morgan's father, Onwardo, is one such person to have passed into the Land of Peace.

More details coming soon!

The Spirit Crowns, the Lock Crown and Key Crown

The Spirit Crowns are crowns built around ancient stones whose power is used by the royal family to open the northern lights once a year, every October.

The crowns also allow the wearer to defend themselves with its magical power. Queen Morgan uses the Key Crown to summon a spear made of mist, as well as a wall of mist and a long mist hand. Gal uses the Lock Crown to fire misty energy blasts at an enemy, strong enough to destroy his powerful vine attacks and impacting him hard enough to knock him into a distant wall, killing him.

More details on the crowns coming soon!

Songs

You can't have a princess story without musical numbers!

October Night

Once again, we’re here together this beautiful October night!

To play some songs and eat the best dang treats as we gaze up at the northern lights. ‘Cause we miss our loved ones who can't be here every single day. But for the next three weeks, we'll indulge in sweets with the ghosts of yesterday.

Thanks to the royal family, the ones who protect the crowns. We look forward to this every year when the spirits come around.

All year long, my heart just aches for my dear-departed relatives. But when the skies light up and those pretty crowns touch, I'll laugh and dance and sing with them. Thank you all for joining me in this moment of our lives.

When we share this night with our husbands, brothers, sisters, and wives.

Though life is short, we can face our deaths knowing this night every year, we’re gonna have some fun for the next three weeks with those we loved right here. Sing it with me, people!

Once again, we join together this wonderful October night! Said for the next three weeks it's party and games with the ones who passed up into the light. 'Cause we miss our loved ones who can't be here every single day. But when the spirit crowns meet they'll get to walk these streets, and for three straight weeks they'll be right here to stay.

Centuries ago, this country was filled with war. The Oya and Was'i were destined to fight forevermore.

But enough about that, we’re livin’ in better times. We get to stomp our feet and clap our hands ‘cause the party's just startin’ when we lose our lives. Oh, they're comin’, said they're comin’ soon all right! Your grandfolks and cousins, and everyone who's died.

That's because our ancestors sacrificed themselves, to open up the star roads so we can share in nights like these, with spirits young and old.

That's right, Mama, but no need to bring up the drama!

‘Cause everything's fine, yeah it ain't so rough—all I've ever known is love. And it's gonna be that way forever, ‘cause we're all in this together, and nothing's gonna knock us down, no never…! And why is that y'all?

Once again, we join together this wonderful October night! And for the next three weeks it's party and games with the ones who passed up into the light.

Said for the next three weeks it's party and games with our husbands, brothers, sisters, cousins, and wives!
